Building Futures for Youth Scholarship

Cost is one of the biggest barriers for students considering post-secondary education, including those pursuing careers in construction. To help, the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) offers the Building Futures for Youth Award. Established as part of CANS’ 150th Anniversary Industry Campaign, the award reflects the association’s commitment to education and the construction sector’s role in Nova Scotia’s economic growth. It is available to students enrolled in construction-related programs at Nova Scotia Community College.

Eligibility:

  • Program Delivery: Full-time
  • Eligible Campuses: All campuses offering eligible programs
  • Year of Study: First year
  • Eligible Programs: Multiple construction-related programs
  • Academic standing: Must be in good standing
  • Additional Requirements: Applicants must have completed the Building Futures for Youth program before applying. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible.

Students Must Demonstrate:

  • Financial need
  • Reference

Award Information:

  • There are four CANS Building Futures for Youth awards available in the amount of $1,000. 

Deadline Information:

  • Students must apply by the end of June each year for the upcoming September school year.
