Alum Spotlight: Robert Stapleton

Our Building Futures for Youth alum are working in various trades in the construction industry. Learn more from past alumni about their experience with the BFY program, the work placement they completed, and where they are today.

I saw the Building Futures for Youth program as an opportunity to learn more about a work environment, the importance of organization and time management.

I learned a lot during my placement with South Shore Glass. They were happy with my overall work ethic and offered me to come back the following summer of my grade 11 year, allowing me to learn more with the company and grow my skills. After I graduated high school, South Shore Glass offered me a full-time position, which was great because I was still unsure what I wanted to do. I have created a bond with the crew I work with and learn new things every day and enjoy working with the company.

Having the opportunity to participate in the BFY program had helped me with my career goals. This program is perfect for people like me who need some help figuring out their job preferences and future career goals.
